Prism Application Security
When designing Prism, we took great care to protect your data. Data used by business
intelligence applications is, in most cases, the most confidential and sensitive there is.
• Every time you log into Prism, you are authenticated with a username and
password.
• When connecting to a database or OLAP server, Prism will enforce the security
configurations applied on that server. Whether your server relies on Windows to
authenticate the user or has its own security roles, Prism will ensure conformity.
No unauthorized access to your server will be possible through Prism.
• When you create an individual Prism document, to distribute your analysis,
reports and dashboards, you can set specific security mechanisms for each
document. First, the document itself is encrypted with a highly secure algorithm.
In addition, Prism Documents can be configured to authorize access only to
authorized Prism users and limit their ability to access the data that the Prism
document is based upon.
Porting From One Database to
Another
The Prism Unified Dimensional Model is exactly the same in nature regardless of
the data source behind it – so using Prism over any type of data is done precisely
the same way. This means that Prism documents created over one type of source can
be easily ported to work against a different data source with the same inherent
structure.
