  • SiSense Prism Business Intelligence Solution Selected by WeFi to Analyze Massive Data Sets
Ease of implementation, query performance, business user autonomy and lower total cost of ownership cited as main reasons for the choice.

SiSense, a provider of leading-edge business intelligence (BI) solutions, announced that its Prism BI software was selected by WeFi to analyze and report on a rapidly-growing database of more than 600 million rows of data. WeFi is a Web-based business dedicated to helping its millions of users find and enjoy the more than 75,000,000 Wi-Fi access points around the world cataloged in its system.

WeFi was looking for a business intelligence solution that would quickly perform advanced reporting and analysis over large amounts of data, including the behavior of millions of WeFi users, the performance and activity of wireless networks to which its users are connected and the activity records of active clients. Furthermore, the company wanted a solution which would allow its analysts and management to design and customize reports, dashboards and analytics without heavy involvement of IT staff.

SiSense was chosen over competing in-memory BI vendors for its shorter implementation time, faster query response performance, better scalability, lower total cost of ownership and more user-friendly report/dashboard design. Soon after deploying Prism, the company's business users were already creating their own reports and analyses.

WeFi is currently running most of its reporting and BI dashboards over Prism, using an off-the-shelf PC with a Xeon 5520 CPU, 64GB RAM and Windows 2003 as its server.

"One of our primary assets at WeFi is our data. Prism is a key weapon in our strategic arsenal," said Amit Shaked, Vice President, Products and Marketing, WeFi. "Business users have extensive autonomy to create and modify their own dashboards and reports, dramatically shortening the time it takes to get new data insights."

"SiSense is rewriting the rules of the BI industry by making powerful and scalable BI available to any company or department, large or small, without the need for large up-front investments, time-consuming implementation projects or prior BI experience," says Elad Israeli, CEO of SiSense. "WeFi is a perfect case in point, as a company which bases its key strategic decisions on daily analysis of large and rapidly growing amounts of data."

  • SiSense Announces New Data Connectors for Prism: Google AdWords and Google Analytics
SiSense, developer of the Prism business intelligence (BI) software system, announced today the beta availability of two new data connectors for Prism: Google AdWords and Google Analytics. These additions significantly improve Prism's applicability for analyzing Google data sources, either alone or in mash-ups with other online and in-house data sources. Data sets of any size can be processed for immediate ad hoc analytic queries, without the need for reprocessing existing data in the system or for aggregations or pre-calculations.

While Prism users have been able to manually export their Google data to CSV and then import it into Prism, they can now connect directly to the Google data source. Automatic syncs at regular intervals can be scheduled. This functionality is especially valuable for online marketing agencies who serve numerous clients. Instead of manually generating reports for each client, they can streamline the process using this new automated functionality.

The alpha versions of these new data connectors have already been in use by a number of customers, and SiSense is now inviting all Prism users to try the beta versions. Following a successful beta period, the company will release the new Google data connectors as part of a new version of Prism.

New users are invited to download the free, fully-functional 30-day trial version of Prism. For a limited time, SiSense is offering a free one-hour phone/Web conference session with new users. During this brief session, the users will use Prism's visual BI studio to import and/or connect to multiple data sources and create an actual interactive dashboard on their own data.

Users interested in learning more about Prism's new Google AdWords and Google Analytics data connectors and how they're used, are invited to watch the free recorded Webinar available here.

  • SiSense's PrismCubed Brings Enterprise-Class Business Intelligence to SMBs at a Fraction of the Cost
In-memory-based business intelligence tool requires no programming, coding, or database design expertise

SiSense, a provider of advanced business intelligence (BI) tools, has updated PrismCubed, an easy-to-use, low-cost tool for in-depth, end-to-end business intelligence that can visually represent, and perform ad-hoc queries on, large amounts of integrated data from several data sources.

SiSense's PrismCubed provides multidimensional analysis of accurate day-to-day business data, which has been limited to expensive BI tools. With no coding, programming, or scripting necessary, PrismCubed can be implemented quickly with limited technical resources and at a very low cost.

SiSense co-founder and CEO Elad Israeli said, "SMBs need clean data that is ready for analysis and accessible by many. They need all the power and functionality of an enterprise analytics system brought to the fingertips of any executive or IT manager without the resource baggage of programming, long project cycles, training, and unnecessary drain on time and budget."

Small and midsize businesses have multiple data sources that need to be integrated, and that need was previously served only by expensive tools that were difficult to implement. With PrismCubed, companies can easily and dynamically perform information analysis from existing company databases, deploy them to users, and create a scalable and secure solution.

The product's interface is designed to make it extremely easy to use for business intelligence application creation, including intuitive dashboards and guided analytics from multi-sourced and disparate data. PrismCubed allows users to perform all data preparation, integration, synthesis and joins using a visual workflow, enabling the development of a robust and accurate business intelligence practice regardless of company size or resources.

Optimized for query speed, PrismCubed's new data store utilizes in-memory technology coupled with a columnar database, eliminating the need for resource-draining data warehouses or OLAP implementations. A unique feature of PrismCubed is its ability to connect directly to data sources such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and an existing OLAP to show live dashboards and guided analytics applications.

PrismCubed covers the entire process of building business intelligence applications powered by multidimensional analytics, from the extract, transform, and load (ETL) of data from disparate data sources to dashboard and analytics creation and deployment. Data from sources such as Excel, csv, Access, Microsoft Analysis Services, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and others can be immediately sourced and processed for analysis by PrismCubed. The integrated centralized data can be deployed locally or on a server.
