SiSense Prism and Microsoft Excel®
Microsoft Excel® is the most popular tool of choice for collecting, analyzing, formatting and arranging tabular data. Starting with Excel 2007, Microsoft even went further and lets you work which much larger volumes of data (up to a million rows!).
Analytics
SiSense Prism gives you significant analytic capabilities over Excel data of any volume.
Prism brings business users common analytics that were until now only available to
professional/technical users, with analytics complete unique to Prism:
- An extensive set of filters: Ranking filters, Percentile filters Exclusion, Union and Intersection filters, etc.
- Out of the box time-based analysis: Yearly, Quarterly, Monthly and Daily
analysis, Weekday analysis, To-Date analysis, etc.
- Custom formula columns: Virtual columns whose value is derived from
user-defined
formulas. Every type of analysis, including filters, segmentations and formulas is defined once and then can be used again and again. Once you define
what data you are looking for, the most updated data will be available to you at any
time with a single click.
No coding, no scripting and no SQL required.
One-Time Reporting
Creating dynamic reports and dashboards over Excel sheets can be done in minutes. Giving these reports a dazzling professional look takes another few minutes.
Once you create a report or dashboard, you will never have to create it again. The data will be kept up-to-date in accordance to the data placed in the source Excel sheet. Unlike Microsoft Excel® itself, new data added to existing excel files will not require you to update any ranges to make your tables and charts present data. Prism will do this for you automatically.
Information Sharing
Reports and dashboards can be distributed to others in two forms:
1. Read-only mode: The receiving party navigates the document and data only within the
boundaries set by the author.
2. Full-mode: The receiving party can enhance/personalize/elaborate the document
and perform further analysis of the data.
Prism compiles your document complete with the Excel data, so distributing the document does not require you to distribute your Excel
file with reports or dashboards created over them.
