New features include Google BigQuery connector, new advanced analytical functions, increased availability and enhanced dashboard management

Today we are excited to announce the official release of Sisense 6.2. Following in the footsteps of Sisense 6 — which introduced R integration and open database connectivity — version 6.2 is built on the premise of empowering our users with more data and more analysis possibilities:

  • Improved dashboard and widget management, as well as scheduled PDF reports via email, making it easier to create and consume dashboards and reports.
  • Increased availability and support for multiple nodes.
  • We are continuing to develop our expanding library of advanced statistical and mathematical functions, introducing several new ones in this release.
  • Sisense users can now connect directly to data stored in Google BigQuery, which they can now easily mashup with other data sources as part of an integrated BI solution.

Empowering Enterprise and Big Data Deployments

In addition to expanded analytical capabilities, Sisense 6.2 is meant to improve both the value and the user experience for larger scale deployments. This includes stronger management capabilities when dealing with large amounts of dashboards and Elasticubes: now you can import data between Elasticubes and copy widgets from one dashboard to the other. Another simple but highly useful feature is the ability to search for dashboards and categorize them using subfolders.

Sisense 6.2 New Features – Highlights

Here are some of the exciting new features. For a full list, see the release notes.

Increased Availability

Version 6.2 introduces the ability to use Elasticube Sets — in essence, you can now duplicate your Elasticube to create multiple nodes, one of which is used for querying while the other updates. This enables even faster refresh rates during while data is being imported, and allows you to continue crunching data non-stop, even during builds.

Native Connector to Google BigQuery

Instantly connect to BigQuery, import exactly the data you need and easily create mashups with additional on-premise or cloud data sources, then see the results in your Sisense dashboards. This feature simplifies the process of extracting data from Google BigQuery and opening it to business users, while also reducing costs by only having to pull the data once and running queries in Sisense instead.

More Dashboard and Widget Management Options

We’re making it easier to manage a large amount of dashboards with the introduction of features such as search for dashboard and the ability to copy widget between dashboards via simple drag-and-drop. Now it takes moments to find exactly the data you need, even if you’re working with dozens of dashboards.

Statistical and Mathematical Functions

We are continuing to enhance our advanced analysis capabilities and building upon our existing statistical and mathematical library with the introduction of rank, slope, intercept and a multitude of additional math functions – giving business analysts more tools to dive deeper into the data and explore it from new angles, all while enjoying the ease of use and lightning-fast performance that Sisense is famous for.

Scheduled Email PDF Reports

This is a nifty little feature that many of our customers have been asking for – scheduled PDF reports. Now you can have the relevant data appear directly in the relevant stakeholder’s inbox, in an attractive report to be viewed either on or offline.
