Traditional BI tools don’t gain much performance benefit from traditional caching unless identical queries are being requested each time. If the query has changed, even slightly, the CPU must re-calculate from scratch rendering the cached data useless.

Every user has a different set of questions to ask and they are rarely, if ever, identical. With different questions hitting the BI tool all the time, the cache is constantly being regenerated and the CPU quickly gets overloaded.

BREAKING QUERIES APART

With Crowd Accelerated BI, Sisense breaks each query into Query Blocks. Rather than the entire query being cached as a whole, each Query Block is cached individually. Queries, although not identical, will generally share identical Query Blocks. As the number of non-identical queries grow, so does the number of cached Query Blocks. Therefore, the more Query Blocks that are stored, the faster the response time to new queries becomes.
