Privacy Notice for the Sisense Websites and Marketing

This Privacy Notice describes how Sisense Ltd. (collectively with its affiliates, “Sisense” “we“, “our” or “us“) handles and protects the information it collects or receives from the users (“users” or “you“) of its website at  and other Sisense-owned websites (the “Websites”) and recipients of marketing messages from Sisense.

Information we collect

Sisense collects information from users visiting the Websites. This information includes traffic data including a user’s IP address, domain server, type of computer, and type of web browser. We track users’ movements around the Websites. Some areas of our Websites require you to register and provide your name and contact information. Downloading our software products requires you to register and provide your name, contact information, and intended use case. We collect personal information, such as a user’s name, address, contact information and other personally-identifiable information (“Personal Information“) when you register on the Websites, request a demo, request a download, subscribe to our blog, enter into a sales promotion or otherwise interact with us (for example through the “contact us” option). Users who register for a free trial account on the Websites are prompted to create a username and password to access their account information. We collect statistical data related to our users’ use of the Websites (including Websites usage patterns), our software products and our services. You have no obligation to provide us with any Personal Information and the submission of such information is at your sole discretion and consent. However, if you will not provide us with the required information we are unable to provide you with the information, downloads, or services you requested. 

How we use information

We use the information that you consent to provide us or that we collect for legitimate business interests (as defined below), which include some or all of the following: to analyze trends, to administer the Websites, and improve our products and services, for marketing purposes, for improving users’ experience on the Websites, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may use the information that you provided us or that we collected from your activity on the Websites in combination with Personal Information from other sources and use third-party services to infer your region and the organization you are associated with to tailor the content you see, interact with you and to market directly to you. 

We compile and store data and information and generate reports related to our users’ access to and use of our Websites and products and services. We may share aggregated statistical information with third parties.

We do not provide your Personal Information to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • If the information is required by law in order to prevent, investigate, or take action regarding illegal activities. In addition, we will share information in response to legal process, court orders, subpoenas, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
  • For the purpose of providing you with products and/or services you request and operating the Websites we may share Personal Information with trusted third-party partners who need to have access to the information for the purpose of providing Websites-related services to us only (and not for such third parties’ commercial use in any way). 
  • If we have your permission to do so.
  • Information collected from users of the Websites, including Personal Information, could be transferred as part of or in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of substantially all of our stock and/or assets relating to the business conducted through the Websites or other corporate change, including, during the course of any due diligence process. 
  • If we collected your information in joint marketing activities with a partner (such as joint webinars), we may provide your Personal Information to that partner. 
  • In some markets where Sisense markets its products and services through partners, your information may be shared with a certified Sisense business partner for the purpose of allowing the partner to contact you with additional information and offers for Sisense products and services.

By submitting your Personal Information through the Websites or otherwise providing it to us, you agree that your information may be transferred to third parties under the circumstances described above or similar circumstances.

“Legitimate business interests” means the reasonable interests of our company in conducting and promoting our business, such as business-to-business direct marketing, fraud prevention, business risk evaluation, and providing you with excellent services and products and the best experience on the Websites.

When we process your Personal Information for our legitimate business interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative), and your rights under data protection laws. Our legitimate business interests do not automatically override your interests – we will not use your Personal Information for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).

A cookie is a piece of data stored on a user’s hard drive containing information about the user. We use cookies to enhance the user experience of our Websites (such as storing password or user preference information). If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our Websites with the only drawback being the disablement of some of the usability features of our Websites. We also use cookies (including allowing third-party cookies) to track and monitor usage of the Websites by users for the purposes of marketing, Websites improvement, and retargeting ads to you when you visit other websites. 

Most browsers will allow you to erase cookies from your computer hard drive, block acceptance of cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. 

Most web browsers accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can disable cookies by default through each of your browser settings. Please keep in mind that settings are unique to each browser and system, so if you use multiple devices, such as computers, tablets and phones, the settings will need to be modified on each. Many ad networks have joined the Digital Advertising Alliance’s self-regulatory program to provide a single opt-out tool at: and at the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) website: However, Sisense does not guarantee that using these tools will prevent online behavioral tracking using cookies through the Websites.

At present, Sisense does not honor Do Not Track signals set by some browsers. If you wish to avoid behavioral tracking by ad networks, please choose from the available methods for doing so.

E-mail and other direct marketing communications

If we have your permission to do so, or if you are an existing customer and we have a legitimate business interest, we will use your contact information (such as your email address) to provide you with promotional and marketing emails and other. You can opt-out of receiving promotional and marketing emails at any time, but if you do you may not receive the full benefit of the Service. Opting-out can be done by following the instructions at the bottom of the promotional material or by contacting us using the information under the “Update/Delete User Information” section below.

At any time, you have the ability to opt out of receiving marketing communications from Sisense, but you may not opt out of administrative emails (for example, emails about your transactions or policy changes) while you are a registered user. You can opt out by either changing your e-mail preferences or using the link provided at the bottom of each email message.

We do not send marketing emails to you if you decide to opt out, and we do not provide email addresses to any third party, except in the situations stated above. 

Policy towards children

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 16. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without his or her consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. If we become aware that a child under the age of 16 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our files.


We employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, due to the nature of Internet communications and evolving technologies, the security of user information may be compromised at any time through unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other causes. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of Personal Information and disclaim any assurance that such information will remain free from loss, misuse, or alteration by third parties who, despite our efforts, obtain unauthorized access.

Sisense blogs and discussion forums

If you participate in a Sisense blog, discussion forums, or other parts of our Websites that allow you to post your comments, the information you provide there is open to others who have access to that blog or discussion forum. Blogs and discussion forums are monitored by Sisense, and we reserve the right to remove your content at our discretion. Each participant’s opinion on a blog or forum is his or her own.

By posting any software, source code, scripts, feedback, suggestions, or ideas to any Sisense blog, community or discussion forums, you grant any user of the Websites a perpetual worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable right and license to use such information without restriction. 

Changes and consent to privacy notice

This Privacy Notice was last changed on the date set forth at the top of this Privacy Notice. Sisense may update this Privacy Notice at any time and any such changes will become effective prospectively from the date of publication. By registering with Sisense or by using the Websites without prior registration, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Notice.. Your continued use of the Websites after any change to the Privacy Notice constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Notice as revised.


Our Websites may have links to the websites of other companies. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those companies.

Data subject requests

To opt-out of marketing communications or request deletion of your information, it is best to follow the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails you receive from Sisense. 

You can also write to us at any time to obtain a copy of your information and to have any inaccuracies corrected or if you no longer desire our service (in which case we will endeavor to remove your Personal Information provided to us). Where appropriate, you may have your Personal Information deleted, rectified, amended or completed. In order to contact us regarding your information please e-mail [email protected]. To protect your privacy and security, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections, however, you should protect your password from disclosure because anyone who gains access to your password may have access to, and may edit, your profile.

While we try to comply with any request pertaining to your Personal Information, in accordance with applicable law, we may not be able to fulfill requests pertaining to information already shared with third parties. Some information may be retained on our systems in accordance with our recordkeeping policies, and some residual digital information cannot be removed or changed. 

Cross-border personal information transfers and the EU-U.S. privacy shield and SWISS – U.S. privacy shield

Sisense complies with the EU – U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss – U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union, EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland to the United States, in reliance on the Privacy Shield. Sisense has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If you are in the European Union, EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have a right to access your Personal Information that we hold about you, and can correct, amend, or delete that information where it is inaccurate, or has been processed in violation of the Privacy Shield Principles, except where the burden or expense of providing you access would be disproportionate to the risks to your privacy in the case in question, or where the rights of other persons would be violated. 

You have a right to choose (opt-out) whether your Personal Information is (i) to be disclosed to a third party or (ii) to be used for a purpose that is materially different from the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by you. You may exercise your choice to opt-out of the permission you gave us by contacting us at the contact information below (the services you requested from us may be affected by your choice). 

In the context of an onward transfer of Personal Information to a third party (including our service providers), we have a responsibility for the processing of personal information we receive under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfer to a third party acting as an agent on our behalf. We shall remain liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if our agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless we can prove that we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

We will investigate and attempt to resolve requests, complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We may require further information from you to identify you and address the matter at issue. 

Individuals in the European Union, EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland may submit unresolved complaints to binding arbitration before the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under certain conditions. Governing Law

This Privacy Notice shall be exclusively governed by and construed in all respects under the laws of the State of Israel, without giving effect to any choice-of-law or conflict-of-law provisions. Any and all legal claims, suits or actions that arise in connection with this Privacy Notice or with breach of this Privacy Notice shall be submitted to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in the courts of Tel Aviv, Israel.
