Education accessibility portal Cialfo harnesses the power of data analytics and business intelligence through Sisense to innovate the path to university


<a href="https://www.cialfo.co/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cialfo</a>, a global platform that connects high school students with universities, has announced it chose <a href="https://www.sisense.com/">Sisense</a>, the leading AI-driven platform for infusing analytics everywhere to help optimise the college search, application and admissions process for secondary students in order to reach their dream tertiary institution.


Used by 250,000 students across 1,600 high schools globally, Cialfo helps students and admission counsellors identify the university that is the right fit for the student, while supporting the admissions journey end-to-end.

Since infusing analytics through the power of Sisense in April 2021, Cialfo has been able to visually and clearly represent its data for clients and has already seen a boost in engagement. For example, the insights help counselors create board reports, understand their student roster at a glance, and manage the application process more efficiently.


High schools tend to have large data sets as guidance counselors record a wide range of information including education history, test profiles and number of applicants. There’s a critical need to have fast and easy access to that data to streamline the University applications process.


Sisense helps Cialfo&#8217;s clients from Kindy to Year 12 to report on student success through the search and application process. 


Cialfo&#8217;s clients use these visualisations to see and analyse data trends. Counsellors, for example, want to access the admissions data quickly, accurately and reliably. Sisense is a powerful tool that lets them meet these requests. 


Sisense interactive dashboards are used by counselors as an embedded tool within Cialfo’s product offering to track performance, view test scores and see students&#8217; history.


Cialfo has also leveraged Sisense to transform and drive significant efficiencies internally, giving employees the ability to run reports without the need for a data engineer. Rohan Pasari, CEO and Co-Founder of Cialfo, says Sisense has reduced data engineering time by at least 90 per cent. 


Rohan says, “If one of our clients wants a particular data set, they can click a few buttons and get the results almost instantly. As a low-code solution, Sisense has also enabled advanced reporting tools for us, and we’re able to create, distribute and test reports without needing additional engineering resources.

The education sector turned towards technology when education fairs and face-to-face events were no longer as easily accessible to students who needed vital information about universities. “Innovation in student mobility is key for the industry, with virtual teaching styles and remote learning set to be the norm in the near future. Counselors are also working in remote or hybrid models and want easy access to how students are performing,” Rohan says. 


Before using Sisense, Cialfo’s reporting system would only allow clients to download CSV files. Using Sisense interactive dashboards, counselors now have access to student data to easily understand and visualise how their students are progressing along the university application process.
